Drain peaches and pears, reserving 1/4 cup liquid (save remaining for another use).
In a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, combine reserved liquid and butter, stirring occasionally to melt butter. Add peaches and pears in a single layer. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and cook without stirring until fruit is lightly browned, 4 to 6 minutes. Gently turn and continue to cook until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
Meanwhile, in the bowl of a stand mixer using the whisk attachment or in a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat cream to soft peaks. Beat in sugar to taste.
Sprinkle fruit with granola and almonds. Serve with whipped cream.
