Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes, plus time for sauce to cool
To make the fudge sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Stir in sugar and cocoa. Gradually stir in cream. Continue stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and warm but not boiling. Remove from the heat and add vanilla. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
To make the milkshakes: In the jar of a blender, combine ice cream, milk, and vanilla. Add more milk, if necessary, to reach desired consistency.
Use a spoon to smear some of fudge sauce inside of 2 serving glasses or jars. Add milkshake mixture. Top with additional fudge sauce.
Smear or pipe frosting on the rim of the glasses or jars and top with donuts. Use more frosting to adhere fruit, cookies, nuts, and sprinkles to donut. Drizzle with more fudge sauce (save any remaining for another use), sprinkle with additional toppings, and serve. Serves 2.
