California Brie With Pear and Maple Compote

Ingredients:

– 8 dried pear halves, diced – 2 tablespoons maple syrup – 2 tablespoons water – 2 large fresh sage leaves, bruised – 12 slices Real California brie Freshly cracked pepper (2/3-ounce)

Directions:

In small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm pears, syrup, water and sage just until pears are soft and plump, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly. For each serving, plate 3 slices of cheese. Accompany with 1/4 pear mixture. Sprinkle as desired with cracked pepper.Serves 4
